The University of Minnesota offers faculty, staff, and eligible graduate students access to UMConnect through a UMConnect Account. UMConnect can be used to create on demand web presentations and to communication and collaborate over the web through web conferences and webcasts. To activate your UMConnect account, see the information below under Activate Account.

Students at the University of Minnesota can access online UMConnect content and participant in web conferences and webcasts. Students are also able to download Adobe Presenter and publish presentations locally.

Note: While it is possible to play-back Adobe presentations on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms, Adobe Presenter 6 is only available for PowerPoint for Windows.

To activate your UMConnect account go to the Get UMConnect page on the UMConnect Support site http://umconnect-support.umn.edu/get/index.html.

system requirements
System requirements are available on the UMConnect Support site at http://umconnect-support.umn.edu/support/index.html.

The UMConnect system has three major components:

Adobe 6 Presenter
Adobe Presenter 6 enables you to use Microsoft PowerPoint (Windows only) to turn PowerPoint presentations into on-demand web presentations which can include audio, Flash video (FLV format), Flash files (SWF), images (JPEG files), synchronized animations, Captivate files, and interactive quizzes and surveys.

UMConnect Meeting
UMConnect meetings deliver real-time communication and collaboration over the web. It can be used for web conferences between small groups of people or it can be used for webcasts of events to large audiences. With UMConnect meetings you can broadcast audio and video, display content such as graphics and presentations, interact with text chat and whiteboard tools, and gather real-time feedback through polls.

UMConnect Training
UMConnect Training enables the development and delivery of online training for the University of Minnesota community. Training can be developed from many types of content, including on-demand web presentations created with Adobe Presenter, live UMConnect meetings, Flash videos and PDF documents.
