Moodle 1.9: Collaboration

This 3.5-hour course is for University of Minnesota instructors and course developers who would like to explore collaborative uses of Moodle beyond forums and glossaries. Participants will review, create, and manage group activities, polls, public collections of users' entries, and collaboratively authored web pages (i.e., wikis).

Topics include:

  • creating groups and working with group activities
  • using the Choice tool to create simple polls
  • using the Database tool to build publicly searchable collections of user entries
  • utilizing peer comment and review within the Database tool
  • using wikis for collaborative authoring of web pages

Prerequisites

Familiarity with using a web browser. Knowledge equivalent to

This course is taught on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms using a supported web browser to access Moodle 1.9.

Fees

No fee. Registration required.
